Relevant performance context
Connected. Permission-aware. Human-led.
Context before content.
A generic prompt cannot explain the work behind a performance review. Useful assistance needs relevant goals, feedback, contributions and organisational context. It should preserve the source and distinguish an observation from an interpretation.
Prepare a better manager conversation.
A manager briefing can bring authorised context together before a check-in. Review preparation can identify examples across the period. Goal and feedback coaching can suggest questions to clarify expectations. Every output needs a manager to check its accuracy, relevance and tone.
Make room for uncertainty.
When project and functional managers see different parts of the work, their accounts may differ. Those differences should remain visible for discussion. A generated summary must not turn incomplete evidence into a confident judgement or infer an employee’s motivation.
Keep people accountable.
The manager owns the assessment and the conversation. Employees need a clear way to correct inaccurate information. Access to AI context should reflect the permissions of the person using it. Security, retention and model-provider arrangements should be verified during supplier evaluation.
Evaluate assistance against real work.
Test a changed goal, a new employee with limited history and a multi-manager review. Ask whether the output is traceable, helpful and appropriately cautious. Compare the quality of preparation as well as the time taken. Use the HR director’s guide and RFP template to make supplier demonstrations specific.
Put the ideas into practice.
Your questions, answered.
How do we choose a performance management process?
Start with the decisions and conversations your organisation needs. Define shared expectations, relevant participants and a manageable cadence, then test the process with one team.
Does continuous performance replace the annual review?
Regular check-ins and a formal review can work together. Ongoing conversations keep expectations relevant; a periodic review provides a wider reflection point.
How can we evaluate the platform?
Bring a representative workflow, your reporting relationships and your HR system requirements to a demo. Ask for current evidence on each capability and use the RFP template to record what is confirmed.
